The Estonian musical tradition is heavily based on folk music. Many, especially German Baroque composers have either had some kind of relation to Estonia or their music has been performed there very early on. In this concert, the Estonian Baroque ensemble Floridante, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, perform a vivid Baroque programme seasoned with folk music. From the old materials, new colours arise in delicious combinations of Baroque instruments and for example the key harp and the chromatic kantele. The driving force behind the Floridante ensemble is the harpsichordist Saale Fischer.
