LISTENING WITH YOUR BODY AND EARLY BAROQUE - A WORKSHOP
The workshop is led by the harpsichordist Marianna Henriksson and the choreographer Anna Mustonen. During the workshop we get acquainted with contemporary dancing and early baroque music and their connections by listening and dancing together. The workshop instructs how to listen to music with your body, all the participants’ backgrounds are taken into account. Through different physical exercises we try to find the straightest connection between the music and the dancing. We also delve into the thoughts of the early baroque age on the influences of music: during the 17th century it was thought that music had the power to change the balances of the human body liquids and due to that have an impact on both the body and mind. The workshop goes together with the concert Byrd and Frescobaldi which is performed on October 5 at the German Church. The concert is also included in the workshop ticket price (25 €). Tickets can be purchased via FiBO’s webshop.
The two-hour-long workshops suits everybody who is interested in music, dancing or the relationship between these two. Come in clothes in which it is easy to move.
