Friends of early and high Baroque music get a delicious treat with works by Heinrich Schütz (1585–1672), Dietrich Buxtehude (ca 1637–1707) and Johann Rosenmüller. The co-operation between Finnish and Estonian Baroque musicians started already in the late 1980’s and still continues to be fruitful, and during the years many friendly relations and different kinds of co-operation have been forged. The music of the concert was written during the 17th century in the era of the Thirty Years’ War, and it reflects many different situations and emotions, some of which very tragic and sorrowful. In relation to that the international friendship is especially valuable and the dissonances in the music are rightfully resolved in the calm final chords. The Estonian-Finnish ensemble is lead by Saale Fischer and Anthony Marini, and the soprano soloist is Maria Valdmaa.

ETKOT / Concert introduction is 45 minutes before the concert starts.

JATKOT, SITKUT, MUTKUT / After the concert, there will be an opportunity to participate in a leisurely moment, traveling from one (state of mind) to another! Da and Toivo will entertain and guide participants on a journey through the German Church’s tunnel, including small-scale experiences that will tickle the senses. At the end of the tunnel journey, the festival will offer participants complimentary punch and an opportunity to exchange thoughts with the artists as well as with new and old acquaintances. For those with mobility restrictions, the route will go outside.
