The multigenerational concerts in Kanneltalo are events which young people and seniors as well as others who are free during the day can experience together.

The programme contains English Baroque music by the beloved composers Händel and Purcell as well as the more unknown Elizabeth Turner, whose music was well-known by Händel. The works are full of amazement of nature: bird song, spirits of the air, roses and floral splendour, the secrecy of the night. Different imaginary characters from monkeys to green men and hay makers dance in the instrumental dances by Purcell. Music also has the power to put to sleep and awaken!

In between the inspiring Baroque music performed by the Finnish Baroque Orchestra we get to enjoy recitations by Mirjami Heikkinen. And that’s not all! The concert programme also contains a brand new short piece inspired by Baroque music, created in the Kannelmäki composition workshop.
